Schools
The Estate has a close relationship with the Montessori School, which is located in the former village hall, which is owned by the Estate.
The school has some 60 children registered and, despite these recessionary times, is a very successful establishment, and was highly commended in a recent Ofsted report.
The Estate works closely with the school and is proud that the school children are regular visitors to the Estate where they undertake a varied range of absorbing and educational activities. The Estate has also provided and endowed a flower meadow for the neighbouring South Baddesley County Primary School to enable the children there to gain a better understanding of the environment and our countryside.
The primary school's headmistress, Mary Nugent, with the backing and support of David Roper-Curzon of Pylewell Estate, has just submitted an entry for The National Gamekeepers' Organisation Charitable Trust and Spider's Appeal Competition for Primary Schools with the prize of a conservation garden designed by Alan Titchmarsh. Their entries are here.
